Social Media Policy: Just Because You Can Doesn’t Mean You Should

I read a couple of articles recently on social media policy. Some of what I’m reading is really good advice:

  • You SHOULD have a social media policy
  • Your social media policy should be clear, enforceable, and not violate employee rights as stipulated by NLRB (the National Labor Relations Board) or other government edicts.
  • Employees need to know about your social media policy
  • Having a social media policy doesn’t protect you. Proactive monitoring and enforcement in necessary to truly protect your organization.
