Samsung announced that the Galaxy S III smartphone has exceeded sales of 20 million. The Android phone had reached 10 million sales by the end of July, with a substantial number of pre-orders boosting the Galaxy S III’s strong performance. It’s only been on the market for about 100 days, but it looks like the Samsung phone’s sales will keep up momentum in the coming months. In fact, a marketing survey from August found that Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint customers all preferred the Galaxy S III to Apple’s iPhone 4S.
The company gave a geographic breakdown of the sales numbers. Europe was the biggest market with 6 million units, followed by 4.5 million in Asia, 4 million in North America, and 2.5 million in South Korea.
