Using Facebook or Twitter to house your contest is a great way to reach your community where they already spend their time. And while you can make some rules, promoting a contest through those social networks has its own restrictions and legal implications. Check the Facebook promotions guidelines and  Twitter guidelines before running a contest on either site and make sure they jive with your rules and plans.
